Remote AstroPals

Remote AstroPals is a NEW project that brings together passionate astrophotographers from around the world, united by the love for the night sky. Each image we produce is the result of a shared process — blending experience, style, and imagination to reveal the universe in a way that’s truly our own.

We work remotely, we learn from each other, we grow side by side.

WHO WE ARE

The Remote AstroPals project began from a new collaboration with my friend Massimo Di Fusco . We both wanted something authentic and genuine, less about performance and more about the connection with like-minded people.

It didn't take long for Aygen Erkaslan to join us — a talented astrophotographer we had already collaborated with before. And from there, things just kept growing.

Today, the group counts 15 members from around the world, all united by the same relaxed, collaborative mindset. Will you be the next AstroPal?

HOW WE WORK

We collect astronomical data from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, using remote telescope services and, at times, our own members' personal equipment. Once the data is acquired, it's made available to all members in the form of carefully calibrated, stacked master files.

Each member then processes the same dataset individually, bringing their unique artistic and technical perspective to the table. Throughout this stage, we actively support one another—sharing insights, comparing techniques, offering feedback, and brainstorming ideas. It’s a collaborative space where everyone grows, both as an astrophotographer and as part of a creative team.

In the final step, we combine our individually processed versions into a single composite image. Every member’s contribution carries equal weight, ensuring the final result reflects the collective vision and talent of the group. The outcome is a harmonious blend of diverse styles, resulting in something truly original and unlike anything you've seen before!

DISCLAIMER

When we use remote telescope services, we pool our resources to secure as much observation time as possible. Contributions are entirely voluntary, each member is free to give as much as they can or wish, whenever they’re able to. There is absolutely no obligation to contribute.

We operate on a non-profit basis. No one earns money from this initiative. All contributions are used exclusively to acquire telescope time and remote datasets.
