Personal Notes

The Askar 107PHQ has been with me for over two years and remains one of my most used and reliable telescopes. It’s behind two APODs and several images published in leading astronomy magazines. I first picked it for its simplicity — no flattener required — and after the first session, it rarely came off the mount. While it’s not perfect (there’s some chromatic aberration on bright stars), it consistently delivers sharp, high-contrast images with excellent colour. The wide field and hassle-free setup make it the one I keep coming back to.
